Earlier I had little knowledge about New Zealand and always thought somewhat like Australia’s Canada something like Australia or close to it. But no, after nearly five months in the lap of New Zealand, I explore it to the core. Also realization dawn on me that after all for what Peter Jackson described it as the Tolkin’s of Middle Earth.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy promoted the New Zealand tourism in a great way. Movie lovers who saw the film and its surprising locations enquired about the locations passionately. Further, the film was shoot in different locations of New Zealand thereby proving a boon for the tourism industry. A plethora of literatures were made available to the tourists listing all those locations in which the film was shoot. Those transport companies who had earlier transported the film unit to the different locations now smile transporting the fans now as tourists to the same locations for a price. New Zealand tourism received a useful boost from LOTR even though most people don’t travel to New Zealand explicitly to see the shooting scenes many of them will take pleasure in seeing other side locations. No doubt the Lord of the Rings has boost the country’s economy in a great way. The adventure gave the present boost to New Zealand tourism. Now a day taking a vacation does not mean mere cruising or reaching to a beach to recline in the sand sipping cocktails or read a thriller. Many more people specially the younger one are in search for some more thrills in their vacations. And New Zealand tourism has seized the opportunity to provide to the tourists all kinds of adventures. You cannot imagine but it is the truth. You can go zorbing in and around Roturua that means sliding into a monster ball and roll down the hill. There is the jet boat ride provided by many companies that is going up the white water at unimaginable speed. You could throw your body from the highest bungee jump in the world or world class white water rafting awaits you. There is a many caving opportunity in the Waitomo area ranging from the board-walked tourist caves to rappelling and sliding through mud and water to be among the greenery of underground labyrinths. As there is no dearth of such adventure spots but you must fit into it first. |
